Janet Restino is a “streams of consciousness” multimedia artist/writer, formally trained as a sculptor, currently recording her poems and songs with guitarists. She will be joined today by guitarist, Charles Worrell.

She has performed at Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Cornelia Street Cafe, The Bitter End, Don’t Tell Mama, the HOWL Festival, Rimes of The Ancient Mariner series and more. She has been funded by Creative Time, Poets & Writers and Celebrate Brooklyn. She has been a guest on WBAI and WKCR, and produced/hosted HEART & SOUL, a weekly live Arts radio show at City World Radio.  Publishing includes:  wherethewurmsplay.com, Luminous Words, Shadow of The Geode, Riverside Poets Anthology Vol. 16, 17 and 18, Public Illumination Magazine, Semiotext(e) USA, Stroker Vol. 35.  The Unbearables, From Somewhere to Nowhere. Several of her poems, stories and drawings appeared in DOWNTOWN NYC in the 90’s.

Her recording of Love Poems & Fast Songs is with Tom Monte on piano.

Canary in a Coal Mind is her compilation of poetry, lyrics, stories and original drawings.
