Sunday, December 9, 2018 - Susana H. Case

Personal, semi-autobiographical, political—this is how poet Susana Case describes her work. Come listen to Susana as we present this late-afternoon reading at the 440 Gallery that is sure to have us thinking in different ways. Susana’s poems use wit, high-energy cleverness and a certain daredevil sensibility to shine a light on some of life’s most difficult questions — quite appropriate for our world and times today.

Susana H. Case is the author of six books of poetry, most recently, Erasure, Syria, new in 2018 from Recto y Verson Editions and Drugstore Blue, 2017 from Five Oaks Press, as well as four chapbooks. One of her collections, The Scottish Café, from Slapering Hol Press, was re-released in a dual-language English-Polish version, Kawiarnia Szkocka by Opole University Press in Poland. Her poems appear widely in magazines and anthologies. Recent poems can be found in: CalyxThe Cortland Review, Fourteen Hills, Portland Review, Potomac Review,  Rattle, and RHINO, among others. Dr. Case is a Professor and Program Coordinator at the New York Institute of Technology in New York City.
